Tolstoy and the Purple Chair: My Year of Magical Reading - Nina Sankovitch While there were some aspects of it that I was not so crazy about, like how very little she actually wrote about how her sister really was as a grown woman, not just the idolized image she had of her, I did really enjoy reading the stories of her parents in a war-torn Europe, and of course of the books she lived with for a year. I found it inspiring. I don't think I could or would even like to read a book a day for a year, mainly cause I am drawn to real bricks of books and I like to savor them slowly like fine wine.
I do recommend Nina Sancovitch's webpage, full or the reviews to these books of her reading year and many many more. Just follow the link from her author page here on Goodreads. There are quite a few I put up on my to-read list after reading this book.
