This is the first book I read by Sedaris and I liked it. Not at first. The first few chapters I was just annoyed at his whining pompous self but he did grow on me (and not like mildew) Funniest parts were the turd in the toilet, the moldy food his dad hides and how he called his belt a 'she' in order to learn the french gender. Oh and how he stole his lovers more exciting african memories and made them his own. I finished this book off while watching the swedish hockey semi-finals (my team won) so perhaps had my full attention been on the book I would have added the last star. As it is I just gonna read another by him and see it that one is as funny. I love to squirt tea up my nose while reading!
